Carlos’ practice focus is insurance coverage litigation on behalf of insurers. His experience in this area began at a firm in Houston in the ‘90’s and has continued at firms in Los Angeles, and now in Orange County, California. Primarily, Carlos has handled major claims litigation arising from commercial general liability coverage as applied to environmental and product liability scenarios. He has also handled disputes arising from other types of coverage, including property and D&O. Outside of the coverage area, Carlos has substantial experience in class action and mass torts litigation (asbestos, pharmaceuticals, medical products, breast implants and welding rods). Carlos recently served as counsel at a major insurer and provides a unique perspective and responsive client service on all matters.
Carlos started his legal career as an associate at Liddell, Sapp, Zivley, Hill & Laboon in Houston (now a part of Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell). He was counsel at O’Melveny & Myers and a partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips in Los Angeles. Immediately prior to joining Tressler, Carlos was senior counsel in the Major Claims Litigation Office of Chubb.
