Carter R. Frambes is an associate in Tressler’s General Defense Litigation Practice Group. Carter concentrates his practice in the areas of employment, tort, civil rights defense and personal injury litigation. He also provides legal advice to corporate, insurance, local government and not-for-profit clients. A natural problem solver, Carter works closely with his clients to determine a cost-effective solution with a practical focus on achieving a favorable outcome.
Carter also represents colleges and universities in Title IX and employment related matters. He has experience in handling both state and federal litigation, charges of discrimination filed before the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Illinois Department of Human Rights. Carter regularly advises higher education institutions on employment law matters. He has experience defending employers in discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wrongful termination suits as well as class actions under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act. Carter also has experience in advising educational institutions on issues including Title IX and the first amendment.
Carter represents both private and public sector clients in state and federal court. He has experience in all phases of litigation including mediation, drafting pleadings, discovery practice, taking and defending party depositions, working with experts, defending expert depositions, arguing dispositive motions and preparing for trial. Carter has successfully defended premises liability, discrimination, negligence and breach of contract litigation matters. He also represents clients before the Office for Civil Rights and the Illinois Department of Human Rights.
