Navigating a Harassment/Discrimination Free Workplace

This session focuses on preventing, responding to and defending against harassment and discrimination claims that arise in the workplace. The interactive presentation will take audience members through real-life scenarios and provide best practices on how to avoid pitfalls others have faced. With a focus on anti-discrimination, anti-harassment and looking at the work environment through a lens of equity, this presentation will prepare you for many of the various legal issues that public employers face today.

Governmental Tort Immunity 2021 Update

This session will discuss the key tort immunity case decisions impacting Illinois local governments. The session will review the case decisions for both 2020 and 2021. Defense strategies for proving tort immunities in both state and federal court litigation as well as offer practical loss prevention tips for local governments will also be discussed.

Are You Allowed to Do That? What Local Government Leadership Must Know About Ethics Requirements

This session will provide elected officials, officers and employees with critical information on the Gift Ban Act, prohibited political activities, conflicts of interests, official misconduct and executive session confidentiality.
