Tressler Talks: Employment Law Enters the Nuclear Age – When Did That Happen?

Cvent-Employment-July-30

We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming virtual Tressler Talk:

Employment Law Enters the Nuclear Age – When Did That Happen? An Examination of What Happened and How to Cope

Tuesday, July 30, 2024

2:00pm-3:00pm CT Webinar

Join Tressler’s award-winning attorneys for a complimentary webinar to learn about record-breaking employment verdicts. Nuclear verdicts consist primarily of awards of noneconomic damages such as emotional distress, and attendees will learn how to broach this sensitive subject at trial. Half of nuclear verdicts between 2013-2022 were between $10 million and $20 million, and over one third were between $20 million and $50 million. The remaining 19% exceeded $50 million. In 2023, a new record was reached, likely to be broken again in 2024.

Attendees will learn how to stop plaintiffs’ lawyers’ tactics that drive up awards and that widen the gap for negotiating a reasonable settlement, including techniques in advocacy – such as counter-experts, motions in limine, anchoring and mitigation that can be used. Attorneys and Insurance Professionals: Learn how to become a better practitioner and how to mitigate excessive awards. One hour of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Credit pending accreditation in CA, IL and NY for newly admitted and/or experienced attorneys.
