Join Tressler’s experienced insurance coverage attorneys to learn about avoiding exposure for breaching the duty to settle within the limits of liability policies. Attendees will come away with an understanding of relevant law in California, Illinois, New York and New Jersey, how to communicate with insureds regarding settlement issues and factors to consider when evaluating settlement demands.
Our attorneys will also discuss whether an affirmative duty to initiate settlement negotiations exists, what constitutes a reasonable demand/offer, the difference between a reasonable demand and the duty to act reasonably, how best to respond to demands and options for insurers for recovery. All are welcome!
