Tressler LLP Promotes Stacey L. Wilkins to Partner
Stacey L. Wilkins, a well-known member of Tressler’s litigation practice and Local Government Practice Group, has been promoted to Partner at Tressler LLP. Ms. Wilkins is an experienced courtroom attorney located in Tressler’s Chicago and Bolingbrook offices. Her litigation practice is focused primarily in the areas of general defense litigation, insurance coverage and municipal law.
“Tressler has given me every opportunity to define and develop myself as an attorney,” said Stacey Wilkins. “I am beyond excited for this next chapter in my career and honored to be a part of Tressler’s future.”
“The path to partnership in today’s legal market is more challenging than it once was,” said Mark Banovetz, Partner and Member of Tressler’s Executive Committee. “The age of the pure ‘service partner’ is over. Today’s candidates for invitation into a law partnership must have a proven track record – not only in the courtroom – but in business development and administrative management. Stacey is a five tool player. She is not only an excellent litigator and courtroom trial lawyer, but she understands the business side of our practice as well. She represents the future of our firm and we could not be more excited to have her on board.”
Ms. Wilkins has successfully defended individuals, corporations, public entities (including park districts and schools), public employees, and not-for-profit organizations, including child care centers and foster care/adoption agencies. She has advised and represented personal and commercial lines insurance companies, self-insured risk pools, corporations, public entities and individuals in a variety of insurance coverage and litigated defense matters. Ms. Wilkin's practice includes both state and federal trial work as well as appellate work.
Ms. Wilkins has achieved many defense verdicts in jury trials. She has also achieved many favorable outcomes through dispositive motion practice in cases involving personal injury, wrongful death and survival, criminal assault, sexual abuse, products liability, and premises liability. She has extensive experience taking and defending discovery and evidence depositions and has handled dozens of court-mandated and commercial arbitrations, and has participated in numerous multi-million dollar mediations. Ms. Wilkins earned her J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law and her B.A. from Miami University.
