Tressler Win: New Jersey Malpractice Suit Over Missing Airplane Dismissed
Tressler attorneys, Timothy M. Jabbour and Lauren DiSarno of our New Jersey office, recently achieved a great result for our clients in a legal malpractice lawsuit involving a missing airplane. On May 2, 2022, a New Jersey state appeals court refused to revive a legal malpractice action against law firm Curcio Mirzaian Sirot LLC and a firm partner over their attempts to organize the deregistration of a $4.6 million jet on behalf of their client.
The two-judge panel found that the firm and the alleged owners of the airplane did not have an attorney-client relationship; therefore, the purported owners had no basis for a legal malpractice claim. Tressler attorneys Timothy M. Jabbour and Lauren DiSarno represented Curcio Mirzaian and the firm's founder, Aristotle G. Mirzaian, in both the underlying litigation and the appeal in New Jersey.

In the recent opinion, the two-judge panel wrote, "These non-clients, while no doubt aggrieved regarding their missing airplane, are owed nothing from these defendants, and the trial court correctly disposed of this claim by entering judgment on behalf of the defendants.”
