Tressler Named to the University of Illinois College of Law's Employer Honor Roll
The University of Illinois College of Law recognized Tressler with an Employer Honor Roll award, which distinguishes firms that hired multiple graduates from the law school within the past three years. Alumni and Tressler attorneys Sarah E. Melendez, Jerome T. Murphy and Matthew J. O'Malley accepted the Employer Honor Roll award on behalf of Tressler's University of Illinois College of Law graduates at our Chicago Headquarters.
The University of Illinois College of Law's Executive Assistant Dean for Career Planning and Professional Development, Greg Miarecki, presented the award and said, “We are thrilled to include Tressler LLP on our 2022-2023 Employer Honor Roll. Tressler is a great firm, and we look forward to continuing our partnership in the future."

Meet Tressler's University of Illinois College of Law Alumni
Michael DiSantis
Partner
Michael DiSantis is a partner in the Insurance and Litigation practices. He focuses his practice in the areas of insurance coverage analysis and insurance coverage litigation, assisting insurance companies in resolving complex disputes. He has represented insurance companies in litigated coverage matters in federal and state courts throughout the country, including those involving advertising injury, personal injury, bodily injury and property damage. His experience encompasses coverage for environmental risks, toxic torts, asbestos, habitational risks, construction defects, consumer class actions, general coverage and allegations of bad faith. Michael also has experience in first-party property litigation and Section 1983 cases.
While studying for his undergraduate degree, Michael was awarded the John L. Porter Prize for best senior thesis in the field of political economy. At the University of Illinois College of Law, Michael was a part of the Green Moot Court Chicago Team.
Ohn Park
Senior Counsel
Ohn Park is senior counsel in Tressler's Insurance Practice Group. Ohn is known for providing nationwide coverage advice to insurance carriers under various policies including commercial general liability (CGL), businessowners, D&O, E&O, employers' liability, architects and engineers, nonprofit multiple peril and lawyers' liability. He also has a depth of experience in the areas of environmental liability, public entities excess, facultative reinsurance, excess educational entity, special entity excess liability and umbrella policies. Ohn has litigated declaratory judgment, rescission and bad faith actions in both federal and state courts.
Prior to joining Tressler, Ohn worked for more than 20 years in insurance coverage and related litigation. He has worked on insurance carrier polices for real estate agents' E&O, homeowners, renters, condominium owners and landlords. He has also handled matters related to commercial, business and personal auto lines.
Daniel D. Drew
Of Counsel
Dan Drew counsels and advises clients on business and legal issues involving every stage of the life cycle of a business. He regularly represents family offices and small and medium-sized companies in nearly every legal aspect of formation, operation, compliance and planning for such businesses, and specifically regarding financing and acquisition or divesture of assets. Larger companies primarily seek Dan’s counsel regarding specific transactional matters.
Dan became Of Counsel to Tressler in September 2013. He formed Daniel D. Drew P.C. in 2005 and continues the practice out of offices in Oak Brook, Ill. He is an Illinois licensed real estate broker and has personally partnered in the development of real estate.
Sarah E. Melendez
Associate
Sarah Elizabeth Melendez is an associate in Tressler's Professional Liability and Litigation Practice Groups. Sarah focuses her practice on complex civil litigation matters, including professional and management liability litigation and other tort matters. Sarah clerked at Tressler LLP for two years before she was an associate. While clerking, she participated in depositions, drafted pleadings and gained experience writing motions and completing research for the Litigation Practice Group. Additionally, Sarah had the opportunity to work with attorneys from all the Tressler offices and across multiple practice groups.
During law school, Sarah externed for the Illinois First District Appellate Court. Additionally, Sarah externed for two judges with the Circuit Court of Cook County in both the Law Division and Motion Section. She was also the Vice President of the Latino Law Students Association.
Sarah was recently selected by her peers in the 2023 and 2024 editions of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America™.
Jerome T. Murphy
Associate
Jerome serves his clients in a variety of complex litigated matters, including toxic tort and asbestos litigation, actions for breach of contract, indemnity and contribution, professional malpractice, personal injury, construction negligence, employment discrimination and civil rights violations. Jerome also has experience representing buyers and sellers in real estate transactions and closings.
During his legal studies, Jerome served as an extern for the Honorable Alexander P. White, Supervising Judge of the Law Division, Tax & Miscellaneous Remedies Section of the Circuit Court of Cook County. As a Supreme Court Rule 711 attorney, Jerome represented indigent clients in divorce and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act litigation in Champaign County, Illinois.
Jerome was named an Emerging Lawyer for 2018, 2019 and 2022 from Leading Lawyer®, recognizing the accomplishments of less than 2% of lawyers under 40 years old or those practicing less than ten years. He was recently selected by his peers in the 2023 and 2024 editions of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America™.
Matthew J. O'Malley
Associate
Matthew J. O’Malley (“Matt”) is a member of the litigation practice group and advises his clients on litigation strategies, skillfully representing them through all phases of litigation. Matt has a track record of success in both bench and jury trials. He focuses on the client’s resolution goals, whether that is achieved through trial, settlement conference, mediation or arbitration. Matt serves his clients in a variety of complex litigated and non-litigated matters, including actions for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, indemnity and contribution, professional malpractice, personal injury, general corporate, LGBT issues, employment discrimination and civil rights violations.
Matt started his legal career working as an Assistant Attorney General for the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, where he served as defense counsel for the Department of Corrections and other Illinois state entities. There, he successfully brought four federal jury trials to verdict in favor of his clients.
Matt was recently selected by his peers in the 2023 and 2024 editions of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America™ and as 2023 Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Star®.
