Jennifer L. Smith Elected Co-Chair of the Judges Initiative Committee of the American Bar Association's Business Law Section
Tressler attorney Jennifer L. Smith has been elected Co-Chair of the Judges Initiative Committee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA). Jenny is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group in Tressler's Chicago, Illinois office. Congratulations, Jenny!

The Judges Initiative Committee explores the intersection of law with accounting matters, focusing on the impact of accounting and financial reporting matters in the securities laws, including lawyers’ responses to auditor inquiries, to assist business attorneys in understanding and navigating accounting and auditing issues in their practices.
Jennifer will be replacing Vanessa Tiradentes as Co-Chair of the Committee. She will be serving a three-year term alongside fellow Co-Chair Justice Timothy Driscoll of the Supreme Court of the State of New York.
Meet Jennifer L. Smith
In her two decades of representing clients in state and federal courtrooms, Jennifer has litigated a wide range of disputes including complex business litigation, the defense of professionals and executives, wrongful death actions and aviation accidents.
Her representation has included the defense of class actions and parties in multidistrict (MDL) toxic tort litigation. Jenny is valued by her clients for her exhaustive preparation, her personable presentation and the results that she achieves in the courtroom. With her focus on courtroom advocacy, she handles all facets of litigation, from inception through trial. She has achieved success for her clients in numerous cases through the successful presentation of dispositive and limiting motions. Her jury trial experience includes complex claims involving alleged nine-figure damages. Jenny is also skilled and experienced in alternative dispute resolution including court convened conferences, mediation and arbitration.
