Megan M. Olson Joins Tressler's Government Practice Group
Tressler is excited to welcome Megan M. Olson as a partner in our Government Practice Group in our Bolingbrook office. Megan focuses her practice on serving cities, villages, townships, library districts, road districts, park districts and other local government entities.
In addition to providing general counsel, she provides guidance on establishing and drafting new ordinances and policies, contract negotiations, building and code enforcement, administrative proceedings, Freedom of Information Act compliance and intergovernmental agreements. Megan also has experience in eminent domain, land use, development and public water supply matters. Additionally, Megan has years of litigation experience which she utilizes to help her clients assess and limit potential risks and liabilities.

Prior to joining Tressler, Megan served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois and a Special Assistant State’s Attorney for Will County, negotiating and securing land acquisitions through eminent domain litigation. Along with representing government entities, Megan has represented numerous individuals, non-profit organizations and corporate clients in a diverse range of civil, commercial and administrative litigation.
During law school, she worked as a 711 legal extern for the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, providing her with the opportunity to gain invaluable courtroom experience at the start of her career. Megan has significant experience serving as a local municipal prosecutor for traffic, ordinance and code violations. She has also spent several years practicing before the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Megan received her B.S. in Political Science from Illinois State University and her J.D. from Cooley Law School.
