Where are you from?
I grew up in a suburb just north of Chicago called Evanston.
What was your first job?
In high school, my first job was with Blockbuster. Unfortunately, the store I worked at closed a few months after I left for college. The free movie rentals were a solid perk.
What is on your bucket list?
To visit every continent in the world.
Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I studied political science in college and I had no other choice but to go to law school.
Why did you choose your areas of practice?
As a law clerk at Tressler, I always enjoyed insurance coverage work the most. Aside from the critical thinking involved in analyzing a claim, I liked coverage because I could be exposed to litigation, too. In addition, each claim is unique and, in the process, I am able to learn about coverage issues related to variety of underlying disputes. For example, I have experience with coverage issues related to advertising injury, construction defects, products liability, life sciences, weather perils, sexual abuse, professional liability, terrorism, and cybersecurity. Exposure to such a diverse array of underlying disputes keeps the job from getting boring or mundane.
What do you like most about Tressler?
The people I work with. Everybody has a vested interest in helping me grow professionally.
What is your favorite quote from a movie?
“They may take our lives, but they’ll never take our freedom!” – Bravehart
What was the first concert you attended?
Rock the Bells in 2008. There was no shortage of hip hop legends at that concert, including A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Pharcyde and the Roots.
