April is National Autism Acceptance Month, and on April 2, 2025, World Autism Awareness Day kicks off the month-long celebration. The goal of Autism Acceptance Month is to foster inclusivity, acceptance and understanding of individuals with autism. This is an important movement, as too many autistic individuals still face challenging barriers.
There are many ways we can help to raise acceptance and awareness. Individuals can promote acceptance and understanding of autism by educating themselves and others about autism, support autism-friendly businesses, support policies and initiatives that promote inclusion and accessibility for individuals with autism, participate in fundraising events and use social medical to spread messages of acceptance.
