Grace received her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago.

Where are you from?
I am from Highland Park, Illinois.

What was your first job?
My first job in college was at Nam’s Noodles, an Asian-Fusion restaurant / karaoke bar in Madison, Wisconsin. I was a server and a bartender there.

Do you have any hidden talents and/or unique hobbies?
Most of my free time revolves around my two Dachshund children, Pickles and Pretzel. I’m a huge animal lover and having two wiener dogs has become a personality trait of mine. In my free time, I take my dogs on walks around the city, which usually involves lots of stopping so people on the street can give them attention and take photographs. I also spend my spare time reading, doing the New York Times crosswords and going to trivia nights. I’m also a huge Chicago Cubs fan and go to as many games as possible during the summer months.

What is on your bucket list?
I love to travel and have been to some cool places. In college, I spent about a month in Sri Lanka during one of my winter breaks. I also studied abroad in Seville, Spain during my junior year. I want to continue to travel whenever I can (and whenever time permits).

Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I always had the idea because my dad is a transactional attorney. I also definitely had those people in my life while growing up tell me that I should be lawyer because I like to argue. I can’t say I disagree, but I also always had an interest in analytical and persuasive writing, which has been a useful tool in my practice.

What does a typical workday look like for you?
I’ve been at Tressler for about three months, and every day has been different. Usually, I will have a good mix of client communication, meetings and handling various aspects of insurance coverage and defense litigation.

Why did you choose your areas of practice?
Frankly, I sort of “fell” into it by happenstance. I worked in subrogation for a while at a previous firm and the insurance group at that firm needed some extra help. Slowly, that became my focus.

What do you like most about Tressler?
It sounds cliché, but everyone at Tressler has been welcoming and helpful. The support staff and the attorneys have been great and willing to assist me with the (sometimes daunting) transition process of starting at a new firm.

What are you most proud of, professionally and/or personally?
Being an attorney is rewarding, but it is often a complex occupation. During law school and early in my career, I witnessed the stress of the profession causing some attorneys to become jaded. I always pride myself on being kind and respectful to others, no matter who they are or where they are in their career path.

Describe your all-time favorite meal.
I would start out with a seafood salad from Joe’s Stone Crab with the brown bread from the Cheesecake Factory. I would follow that up with Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza (cheese only) and extra crispy McDonalds fries. For dessert, a large birthday cake from Jewel-Osco. Yes, I have thought about this question before.
