Amanda-Sandrik-Carrillo-Staff-Spotlight

Amanda Sandrik-Carrillo is an administrator in the HOA Practice Group. Amanda has worked in Tressler's HOA Practice Group since 2013 and is an integral part of our staff. She has a plethora of knowledge with regard to our collection practice. She manages all things administrative and is readily available to answer questions from clients. Amanda currently works out of our Bolingbrook and Chicago offices. Learn more about Amanda below!

Where are you from?
I grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago – my childhood was split between Romeoville, IL and Plainfield, IL.

How long have you been at Tressler? Have you seen Tressler and the HOA practice grow during your time here?
I have been at Tressler for more than 15 years. I have seen so much growth in the firm as a whole and in the HOA Practice Group. I am thrilled by where we are at now.

Is it true that you met your husband at Tressler? How did you meet?
Yes! We met in 2007. I started in Office Services, and he was working in the department and trained me. We worked together for six months until he left Tressler to pursue other opportunities. We became great friends and stayed friends for two years until we decided to start dating. We have been together ever since and recently celebrated ten years of marriage. We have two children, Belle and Hudson, and a fur baby, Amelia.

Do you have any hidden talents and/or unique hobbies?
I am passionate about wine and not just the flavor – I love all the nerdy details. Last year, I took a Level 1 Sommelier class for fun. My husband and I have gone on dates where we just pick out new wines to try or revisit old favorites. We also will sit with a glass of wine and a charcuterie board and watch SOMM TV (it’s like a Netflix for all things wine). Sometimes, I theme the whole board based on what we are drinking. I am always pairing wines with meals, too. If I don't have the right bottle, I will look for it and buy if I don’t have it. The right pairing can make or break a meal or make it so different that it will completely alter the taste.

What’s an interesting fact about you?
My birthday is on Christmas.

What is on your bucket list?
I would love to travel! I have so many places I would like to visit, but Spain is #1 on my list.

Why did you decide to become an HOA Practice Administrator?
I didn’t decide to become one – my growth at Tressler has led me to this position, which I love and cherish. When I started at the firm, I always planned to grow within but wasn’t sure which direction to go.

What does a typical workday look like for you?
I probably look like a mad woman. Our practice is so fast-paced with lots of moving parts that I am hopping between many tasks all day long. It is a lot like playing Whack-a-Mole, and I love resolving issues for our clients as they pop up. Our collection files are billed on demand, so I am often generating invoices and sending them to clients, working through the many issues that pop up within the files and opening incoming collection accounts in our online file system (RC2). In addition, I follow up with clients on files and am in constant contact with our staff and attorneys on where we need to be on each unique file.

What do you like most about Tressler and the HOA practice?
Tressler is my second home. I like how innovative and ahead of the curve the firm is in the field and how we are always looking to improve and grow. The HOA Practice Group is my other child. Along with our staff, I am always helping nourish it and pushing it to grow or make changes that will improve the practice. I enjoy our team – we are a family.

What are you most proud of, professionally and/or personally?
I am proud of how I have helped the HOA Practice Group grow. I am also fond of my children, Belle and Hudson. They amaze me every day in every aspect and I am so glad that I am their mom.
